Maker of things, illustrated, championing food with legs.
After studying graphic design at Central Saint Martin's London Laura worked as an illustrator, collaborator, and Talking Stick maker. Her lively artworks were used in installations, exhibitions and print, for clients such as Marmalade magazine, Margaret London and The Believer. Talking Sticks are made from found wood and gouache, brought to life with facial features and hair styles, which were stocked in Darkroom and Anthropologie US amongst others.
A move was made to the vegetation dense, wild and wonderful reaches of East Sussex with a small family tow. After a brief spell in a local bakery between the cream buns and other goodies, she began to see the food stuff in a new light. Using traditional inks and a dip nib pen, playful food characters came to life, and are now often found dancing across fine pottery, whilst sporting enviable footwear.
